Emergency Services

Star Valley Medical Center, along with the Afton, Thayne, and Alpine EMS units, provides comprehensive emergency care.  Our new Trauma Level Three (3) designated Emergency Room (ER) features many changes and new additions, which differentiate it from the previous ER.  Our new ER is divided into several areas, fitted for appropriate services and procedures, and decorated to compliment its function.  These sections make up a large trauma bay, capable of holding several gurneys; a room for cast setting and removal; a room specifically set up for special needs patients, such as children and expectant mothers; a decontamination room; and a waiting room.

Another addition is our ER nurses station. The station will make it more convenient for ER patients to get needed help quickly. Windows in the station allow nurses to watch over patients not needing hospital admittance, but close observation for a period of time. A board certified Emergency Medicine physician and family practice physicians are available 24/7.
