The Benefits of Membership

A membership to InStarValley.com is free to every resident of Star Valley.  Once you join the site you have access to your own Personal Member Center.  From there you can place free classified ads, free event listings, and free personal announcements.  We'll also be adding free photo sharing, free blogs, and more in the near future.

Why Do We Ask You To Join The Site?

When you join the site you certify that you are a Star Valley resident (full or part-time).  This is important. It allows us to keep the site, and the content you add, strictly local.  It also allows us to review content to make sure it doesn't violate any of our terms and conditions.  Basically, it allows everyone to contribute to a family-friendly site that can benefit everyone in Star Valley.

We Don't Share Your Information

Personally identifiable information like your name, address and email are not shared with any third parties.  We take online privacy very seriously.  If you choose, your personal information can be displayed on content you add to the site (like classifieds, events, etc.).  You have complete control over what is displayed.  You can disable the display of your name, your address, and your phone number on any content you add.

What About Your Email Address?

Your email is never actually displayed on the site.  We use a unique system that allows site visitors to contact you about your ads, events, etc. without ever exposing your email address to spam harvesters and other automated programs designed to gather email addresses.

We'll Send You An Email Newsletter

Our email newsletter is sent to you about once a week.  It's designed to be a quick and easy read and to update you on new content or site features.  Our email newsletter will also contain information about site giveaways and other promotions.  As we grow the site and our membership we'll include special offers from area merchants — things we think might be of interest to you.  Of course, you're always free to unsubscribe any time you like.

We do however continue to use your email address to send you important site information like reminders about expiring listings, important announcements about site maintenance and alerts that you setup yourself.  We work to keep this type of communication to only a necessary minimum.
