Article Submittals

We’re Always On The Lookout For Local Flavor.

We’re always interested in articles with a Star Valley point of view from talented local authors and photographers. Specifically, we’re looking for original articles and photo essays about local events and activities, human interest stories, area roundups, profiles of engaging characters, informative pieces, articles about hunting, fishing, the outdoor Star Valley lifestyle and point of view articles on topics that are important to you as a resident of the Star Valley area.

Article Length

Ideal feature length articles should generally run 1,500 – 2,500 words. Short profiles and review articles can be 500 to 1,000 words.

Photographs

Illustrating your articles with original photographs is a big bonus, and we’re always on the lookout for high quality photography.

Individual photos and photo essays are very appropriate to send. When sending photos, please send digital files only in .raw, .psd or .tif format ideally.  Image size should be no less than 2560 pixels wide.

Submit your digital photographs with or without storylines for consideration.

Please send only original works, we don’t accept prior published works or copyrighted material.

Usage & Payment Information

We purchase non-exclusive online rights to original articles and photos to be featured on InStarValley.com as long as we deem appropriate. You are quite free to sell the material elsewhere. Payments are scaled to article length and subject matter and are confirmed in writing prior to publishing any material.
